WALES
The best thing about Wales is the castles and we particularly recommend Harlech, Caernarvon, Conway and Pembroke. If you like a hike but don’t want to go too far off the beaten trail then a walk up and down Mt. Snowdon is recommended. There are several routes and not much to choose between them. Many Welsh people are extremely anti-English, being particularly fond of speaking loudly about you in Welsh. This can be hilariously funny if you happen to have a Welsh speaker with you who has little Welsh accent. Admittedly this is not very common unless you are in the services. We particularly recommend that you never do any business with the Carlton press of Pontyclun in Glamorgan who still owe us £126 for the work they never sent. Anglesey has some nice beaches and if you cross the bridge and turn right along the coast that road is particularly ace on a motorbike, but there is not much else worth visiting for. For a canal holiday with views the Brecon canal is unbeatable. Very few locks as well and loads of walking stops. Highly recommended. In fact as outdoor, bumbling around holiday destinations go the Brecon Beacons are badly overlooked. Snowdonia is also nice for that sort of thing, although a bit crowded these days. Another good walk is over the roman steps up the valley from Llanbedr, just S of Harlech. Wales is quaint and OK, but not a top destination.
Mikes tip:- One of the best beaches in the world is at Harlech.
